OSPF Routing Protocol

What is Routing Protocols?

Routing protocol is used to gather routing entry information to route anything successfully across the network. For this Router needs to know following key information:
· The destination of the packet that need to be routed.
· A routing entry for that destination. (This can include unknown default route)
Routing protocol uses a different method to gather information about available networks and distance, or cost. Routing protocol can be classified into two main categories.
1. Distance vector routing protocols – RIP, IPX, IPX RIP, AppleTalk RTMP, IGRP
2. Link-state routing protocols – OSPF,IPX NLSP, IS-IS

CCNP Certification

CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) is the second stage of you cisco certification exam. CCNP provides advanced knowledge of routing and switching. It teaches the installation, configuration, and operation of LAN, WAN, and dial access services for medium-to-large networks with multiple protocols.

CCNP certification exam is three 120-minute exams. Exams are as follows

CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) Certification

CCNA is the first step into your journey. This is the most popular certification among all Cisco certification. CCNA gives you the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium size networks (route and switched), including implementation and verification of secure connections to remote sites in a WAN. New curriculum includes the use of these protocols: IP, Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Serial Line Interface Protocol Frame Relay, Routing Information Protocol Version 2 (RIPv2), Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs),and access control lists (ACLs).
